Michael Bissett-Powell
- The first recorded existence of a fire brigade in Godalming was in 1726, when a carpenter was paid to repair two engines. It is not known where they were stored, but possibly under the Market House. The Moss Lane station was constructed next to the local school and was replaced in 1876.
